THE LIFE OF RILEY

Previously, I have written about dumped animals
seeking a new home.  I called it a family affair.

It has come full circle in our family.  Several weeks ago a kitten began coming up on my father's back patio.  Dad's not much on having pets.  My brother decided to feed it and you know what happened next.

"Riley" as he has come to be known is living the life of Riley on the back porch.  He has decided the apple trees in the back yard are the greatest place to hang out.

The Apple trees make great scratching post too.

When he is not hanging out in his apple trees you can find him lounging among the lilies our mother planted.

He looks very contented in their shade.

He loves to roll in the grass and when he sees a Blue Jay in the Apple Trees he stops rolling to stare, wondering if he can get in the tree before he flies away.

He loves his new home.  When Dad comes out to sit on the porch  and to work with his tomato plants he pesters him to let him sit on the glider too.  He purrs loudly giving Dad tender love bites and love rubs on his ankles.

Riley won't have to look for food and affection anymore.  All he has to do is meow and there will be some one at his beck and call.
